Thinking of going into publishing? – new online resource

If you’re considering publishing as a career option – or you just want to know what it is publishers do – Random House have produced a shortish (9:26) film on what the publishers do. You can find it here.

Regular readers of this blog will know that in general I’m not over-impressed with the creativity of the large trade houses (see, for example ‘Is publishing creative?‘) – but hats off to Random House for creating this resource.

For a more sustained, detailed, account of what publishers do, please follow  the ‘What does a publisher do?’ series of posts on this blog. The opening post (10 Dec 2011) is here and the most recent (13th) here. The series continues.
